Summer is Flying By!

I just got back from a three week trip to Utah to see family and I feel like my summer is slipping away!  I've uploaded 16 digital products so far to TeachersPayTeachers.  I wasn't really expecting much, but I've already sold some stuff in the couple of weeks that I've been on the website!  It's pretty cool to actually make a little money on the side for something that I love to do.  I've only made $3.00 after commission is given to the hosting website, but its still pretty exciting.

Right now, most of my time is being taken up updating the Virginia Studies Interactive Notebook that I compiled last summer.  I need to get it to my principal in time to have it printed and bound before the school year begins. Right now its up to 142 pages!!  I don't think this a product that I'll sell (even though it has been A LOT of work - like over a hundred hours) because I've borrowed text from multiple sources that my school has purchased for just our classrooms' use.

Here's a quick shot of a portion of the book I'm working on. Fun! FUN! :)

Once I finish this project... and the science one I'm hoping to create, I'll get back to uploading more on TeachersPayTeachers.  I have like a kajillion more things to share!

Also, one more thing that I wouldn't share with my coworkers on Facebook.  I'm kind of getting excited for the school year to start again.  What is wrong with me?!?

Another Teaching Blog?

So, today summer boredom finally kicked in and I decided to start a teaching blog.  I also joined Teachers Pay Teachers, a website for teachers to post materials that they've created and allow other teachers to download for a price.  It's really quite an ingenious idea... wish I would've thought of it first!  If you're interested, you can see my profile by clicking here or by clicking the nifty button on my sidebar.

I've just started to upload some stuff that I've made, but I haven't gotten to upload much at this point.  I've been creating TONS of teaching materials since I started teaching six years ago and have always been very willing to share anything that I've created with any teachers that are interested.  Every time I give something away, that person will say,  "You could/should SELL this stuff!"  Well, I'm not much of an entrepreneur, but creating the TpT account was easy and maybe I'll supplement my paycheck a little.

I haven't completely decided exactly how I'll use this blog.  I figure I'll share previews of stuff I've created and talk about things that I'm doing or have done in the classroom.
